Trends in Organic Fashion

By

With the rise in popularity of all things natural, organic clothing has found a prominent place in the fashion industry. You can often find organic clothing brands included in the selection at many malls, department stores and specialty shops, both locally and online. The fabrics that these clothes are made of are either all-natural or created with materials that were manufactured using non-synthetic processes and ingredients. The selection of organic clothing continues to grow and there are currently many fashionable styles and fabrics to choose from.

Hemp Clothing

Organic clothing is made from any of several different combinations of natural materials. Hemp is one of the most versatile materials for many reasons. While growing, it’s pest resistant which leads to elimination of potentially dangerous pesticides, it requires less water than other crops, such as cotton, and its production levels are vast in comparison. Equally important, when produced into a fabric, hemp is strong, absorbent, repels dangerous UV rays and is wrinkle-free.

Organic Cotton Clothing

Cotton is a material that is easier to work with than some of the other organic fabrics. Organic clothing made from cotton may be more comfortable, more fashionable and perfect for all ages. When cotton is grown organically, the processes make use of non-toxic insecticides and fertilizers to ensure a truly natural product.

Soy Organic Clothing

Organic clothing made from soy produces an extremely soft type of fabric that is also very durable and strong. Like hemp, soy fabric is also UV and sunlight resistant and wrinkle-free. It’s more absorbent than cotton and produces natural wicking properties. There is some concern with soy, however, as some agencies may take advantage of genetically modified soy. Research the source of materials used before relying on organic soy clothing to be 100% natural.
